ON-SITE SERVICE AND OFF-LAND SERVICE & SALES

Our technicians are trained and licensed by the manufacturer "Wuxi Xingsheng", "Wuxi Mingzi" and "Mansei Inc" for their range of Rescue Boat, Life Raft and Combination hooks.

We supply new Release Gear produced by earlier mentioned manufacturers, perform service onboard the vessel and in case we are not awarded with inspection service for other equipment onboard the ship, customers may choose to off-land the Release Gear to the Service Boat Counter. We will pick up from the Service Boat Counter, bring to our workshop for service & load test, prepare the certificate and email a copy to Captain before sending the physical Release Gear back to the Service Boat Counter. This process may be as short as 3-4 hours inclusive time spent on the roads.

Following is our simple 6 steps procedure for the in-house service and load test.

Step 1: The crew will need to help remove the Release Gear from the Launching Appliance. Normally, it is locked with cotter pin or set screw. The process for removing such Release Gear is only 10-15 mins if it was not particularly rusted or overly painted.

Step 2: The Release Gear may be passed to the service boat ferrying any shore service technicians or ship's agent. The service boat will then be informed by agent to hand over the Release Gear to the boat counter. Remember to include a off-landing note indicating the item is sent for shore service and will be returned to the ship.

Step 3: Our technician will pick up the Release Gear from the boat counter and informing the ship's agent upon collection. An estimated time for service and return of the item will be notified to the agent as well.

Step 4: Our technician will arrive in our workshop about 30 mins later for service work. After servicing, he shall perform the load test with 150kg, 200kg or 110% load, depending on the job scope and equipment. Once everything has been completed satisfactory, he shall prepare a certificate for the ship and email to Captain cc to Class Surveyor. If the Class Surveyor wants to see the load test, we can record a video or make a video call.

Step 5: The Release Gear and original certificate shall be returned to the boat counter specified by agent. Normally the boat fetching returning technicians will send the item to ship.

Step 6: Ship's crew install the Release Gear to the launching appliance.

Our technicians are trained and licensed by lifeboat and davit manufacturers under their established certification programmes to carry out services on the manufacturers' behalf. The manufacturers that we partner with are market leaders in the industry, they have been in manufacturing lifeboats and davits for decades. They are also one of the most popular lifeboat and davit brands in the market today.

As of 1st January 2020, MSC. 402(96) was implemented and emphasis is placed on the personnel training, knowledge transfer (such as update to technical documents, equipment upgrade) and availability of critical spare parts and/or special tools. All of which, are easily satisfied by a Service Company with close cooperation with the lifeboat, davit and release gear manufacturers. N&P Maritime's in-house training only prepares our service personnel for general job knowledge and they pick up make and type (model or series of equipment) specific knowledge during the training programme at the manufacturer's.

Flag Administration / IACS Classification Society Approvals under MSC 402(96)

From 1st January 2020, MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1 will be revoked and replaced by MSC. 402(96). As of 27th April 2020, we have already acquired certification from Liberia Flag, Panama Flag, Bahamas Flag, ABS Class, BV Class, CCS Class, LR Class and ClassNK for MSC. 402(96) "Maintenance, Thorough Examination, Operational Testing, Overhaul and Repair of Lifeboats and Rescue Boats, Launching Appliances and Release Gear".

For other Flag Administration which does not mandate individual approvals, we can already perform service with our existing Classification certificates.

The new regulation is a long awaited development to the decade old MSC.1/Circ.1206/Rev.1 and it introduced more stringent standardisation to the industry, promising to improve the service quality and technical improvements for the Service Suppliers. N&P Maritime's personnel are certified in accordance with the lifeboat, davit and release gear manufacturer's established certification programmes. Our company is supported by the manufacturers for updated technical documentation and supply of original spare parts, both are crucial for ensuring your asset is in good condition as per manufacturer's standards.
